Scoliosis Upright MRI screening

Benefits of Standing MRI

A Standing or Upright MRI is a state-of-the-art technology that has become the gold standard for imaging. It shares all of the benefits of a traditional recumbent MRI in that it can observe muscle tissue, ligament, and bone without emitting any harmful radiation to the patient. Furthermore, the Upright MRI is multipositional and thus is capable of capturing images of a patient in their daily weight-bearing positions allowing for a more accurate diagnosis. Contrary to the conventional X-ray scoliosis imaging method, the upright MRI can be used as frequently as necessary making it the ideal method for an accurate screening tool. Lastly, due to the open walk-in design of the machine, patients who are claustrophobic are not prone to anxiety during screening.
